Neurofeedback is a process of direct training of brain activity where the brain learns to function more efficiently. Individuals observe their brain in action in real time. The brain is rewarded for changing its own activity to more functional patterns. It is a gradual learning process that can help with anxiety, depression, attention deficits, behavior problems, sleep disorders, headaches / migraines, and more.
Biofeedback is a two part process. First, individuals gain awareness of their physiological functioning by seeing it displayed to them in real time. Examples include: heat rate, muscle tension, skin temperature and skin conductance. Second, they learn to regulate their own unconscious bodily processes, and as a result, gain better control of their stress responses. It can help with: stress reduction, chronic pain, anxiety, high blood pressure, ADHD, Raynaud's disease, peak performance, migraines, gastrointestinal problems, unconscious teeth grinding, and more.
