Mental health crisis lines:
“I have a deep respect for the individual needs and goals of each and every client”

Lesa Swanson

LICSW

As a  licensed clinical social worker I provide counseling services to adults, children and families.  I earned my Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Washington as well as an additional 100-hour certification in children's mental health.  Areas of expertise include:  mood disorders (including anxiety and depression), children & adolescents, ADHD, parenting issues, stress management, grief and loss, divorce, and trauma recovery.  I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches.

To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.

I have co-taught the Court mandated impact on children seminar “What Children of Divorce Really Need,” since 2001 in Pierce County.

My style is comfortable, sincere and relaxed as I strive to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere.   My approach to therapy is strength-based and client-centered.  I believe that counseling should be a collaborative experience where learning, healing and growth can occur in a safe environment.  I also believe that mental health counseling should be an empowering process that allows people to take back control of their lives.

Lila Jean

Office Companion

Lila - our sweet lovable office companion does such a wonderful job of providing comfort and attention to all who visit us.

Her talents are many! She can act as a stress reliever, an anxiety soother, a mood lifter, a heart warmer and a producer of excitement.

She generally gives a warm welcome to new comers and then as she settles – she crawls into her comfy bed and takes a little nap. We are very grateful for all of the gifts that she brings to our office!

Kris Collison

Administrative Assistant

Kris keeps us all organized.  Kris comes to us from a medical background having worked as an LPN in home health care.

Her many talents come from being a stay at home Mom for 14 years.
